It’s 2019 you guys, getting people to open your emails is really challenging. Why is that?
Well, our inboxes are flooded. On average we get a thousand emails a week in this day and age and the reason why people are so non-responsive to your email is probably that they’re inundated. They just don’t know what to open anymore. I mean for my case I know I have about 10,000 unopened emails right now. Well, what we recommend to boost email open rates is to incorporate video into the process.
As a matter of fact, when people see the word video in a subject line they kind of get excited. We’ve noticed that there’s a 200 or 300 percent lift when we include a video in a subject line.
Why is that? Well, we think it’s because people are curious to see what the video is they want to watch it and they want to make a choice for themselves so we incorporate video into all of our emails and we encourage you to do the same thing.
Another thing is to A/B test your subject lines.
Don’t just pick one. Pick two and every time you do another campaign try a different set and then find the one that really speaks to your audience and to your persona.
