Below is a transcript from the video:
Hey, everyone, welcome back to dub support in this video
we’re going to be doing a side by side, head to head comparison between Vimeo
and Deb. So why have I actually chosen to compare both of these platforms it’s actually, because
Doug is going to be able to do just about every single thing video can do Plus, a whole lot
more for a lower price. Now, I know that’s a pretty bold claim. So let me
go ahead and actually back it up with some evidence and let’s jump right into the video that
what we’re going to actually start with is what these two platforms have in common.
And then we’re going to talk about some things they have in difference and some things like that. So
what they have in common. The first thing is some creation tools. They both have a video
creation aspect. While these definitions might differ a little bit. They
both have them. So let’s jump in to what those look like. So for Vimeo, the video
creation tools are actually choosing from some stock footage.
You can upload your own video or you can choose from the stock footage. They have
and kind of the templates that they organize, you can see your sales. Traffic things
like that. And when you’ve done that they’re going to have some like a stock footage for
you to choose from, where you’re going to able to put your own text with some stock
transitions and things like that over the top of it? So that is what
videos creation tools are you’re either taking a video from scratch and
applying some automatic kind of transitions and put your own text on it. Or
you are taking their stock footage, so that’s what it looks like with Vimeo.
Now with dub. The difference is their creation tools are actually designed to create
videos from scratch and edit them in real time, so here’s
what? That looks like we’re actually using the dub desktop recorder to record this video.
You can see that some pausing some webcam options. You saw return the webcam
off then there’s also the Chrome extension, which is really similar. It also has the
ability to record the screen webcam only there’s annotation tool, so you can kind
of drawn on the video as you’re creating it. So that is the difference there. We have
real time creation tools like your dub mobile app also has the ability to
add multiple clips. Text overlays music and things like that. Just like
Vimeo video creation tools. So the dub mobile app actually matches
pretty well with video creation tools. But then you have the Chrome extension.
The desktop recorder, the Gmail add ons, Outlook, LinkedIn, the integrations
like that, where they allow you to create those videos right inside the tools that you’re
using. So that way we’re not having to go and use third party tools create a video
and then upload this to dub or upload this to Vimeo. And then move
forward from there. So that’s really, the difference real time creation tools as well as
uploading and the editing on the app whereas video is really
more about just some stock editing. Once the video has
been created from their stock footage or you’ve uploaded a clip clip from scratch.
Okay, so that’s the difference and similarity between the creation tools were
starting from scratch or creating templates. Dubs all about creating custom
videos or in our videos. So kind of
both worlds with them. You can create your own or you can upload the stock and then
video has its own little. Stock library there’s the main difference there. Okay,
once you upload this video, as I mentioned, you can do some customization, so it’s not
anything like a video editor, like an iMovie or Adobe or anything like
that it’s really like the transitions are already applied. And you can just kind of
modify the text, so while it’s a lot easier to use
than a full movie editor. Like Adobe or movie or something there’s also it’s
also a lot simpler. And there’s not really much customization to be
had. So that is the way that these two platforms offer video
kind of creation and a little bit of customization. We talked about, but there’s
really another aspect of customization and that’s how these videos are
delivered. Both of these platforms have a very different
way of delivering videos. Now, Vimeo does
offer a couple of different ways to customize the kind of video delivery.
And now here’s what that looks like. So here’s a video that I created on Vimeo
or uploaded to Vimeo. And now in terms of embedding, this is
what the options look like to customize that. So we have some options to
control the play bar volume speed controls, full screen and that’s
all referring to the player controls on the embedded video.
We can also upload your own logo down here. You can see where I can upload my own
logo, but this is really it in terms of
the customization of the video. The other last thing here is I can put my some
interactive tools which is either a link based CTA.
So really kind of basic customization or an end screen, which is kind of
the same thing with either linking to another video or it’s linking to a simple
CTA which is just a link. Meaning you can just put a URL
in there. A little button and it goes at the end of the video. So really that’s
kind of when it comes to customizing, the delivery portal of these
videos. So here’s what a video looks like from Vimeo. You have the
basic kind of profile information up there. You can see D test and follow
our numbers or whatever this is kind of distracting. And then here’s
the video itself along with the controls. So this is what a portal looks
like when viewing a video from Vimeo now with dub
they’re gonna have all those same really kind of basic options that we
just talked about. Like, the player controls uploading the logo.
Things like that so they’re gonna have all those basic controls, but they’re also going
to have really a ton more. This is what dub is really all about. Actually is customizing
these video deliveries, these video landing pages. So here’s what a dub
page. Looks like one we’re delivering videos. You can see really every part of its custom.
The custom logo custom URL. You can have a custom URL there. You
can customize the background upload the logo. Of course you can even change the player color
controls on the player playlists. And then, of course, the call to action
buttons. We mentioned the call to actions with video are really
just that link based kind of CTA whereas with dub. The CTAs have
just so much more functionality. This is a direct calendar integration.
We can collect video testimonials. We can have them fill out a form to collect
emails for lead generation. We can have them go to a link. Of course
we can have to make a phone call. Open up Facebook a Messenger chat really anything
you can think of in the digital space that’s what we can have these CTA be programmed
for. And as I mentioned, this is really, the difference there with the call to action
with with Vimeo you’re. Just getting a link. You can put a little link at the end
of the video. And with the we can program these buttons to do just about anything, we need them
to do so that’s really, the difference in terms of the CTAs and the terms of the customization
we can see here, the Vimeo page is really, really basic there’s not really anything
we can customize with it. Whereas with TV you can customize the entire page and really the
best part of this thing with dub. Is this all happens very automatically?
So the landing pages are generated automatically all I have to do is hit record and it’s
going to build out this whole page with the buttons and branding and everything. As soon
as the video is finished uploading based on kind of my settings, whereas with Vimeo.
If I wanted to build a landing page like dubs, I would have to use a completely
separate third party landing page software to build
a landing page out. And then I would only be able to embed that Vimeo video on to
dub and that’s really the difference there is Deb offers these automatically
generated highly customizable landing pages video landing pages whereas Vimeo
does not provide any type of landing. Page builder you’re stuck with using a third party landing
page tool and then embedding your Vimeo videos on there, which
really doesn’t provide any more benefit than using YouTube. As
far as editing goes both platforms are really similar. We
talked about Dubs mobile app offering editing and then the kind of
light editor that demo offers. Now, one second
here so this is really where the similarities end. We talked
about the video creation tools how they have a little bit in common. Like the mobile apps
really similar to the famous creation tools. And I do have the real time creation
tools. And we also talked a little bit about how customizing
these videos they’re a little bit in the same. Like you can add the basic CTA
the logo and things like that. Some video player controls. But we also talked
about how dub offers the complete landing page builder with really powerful features
like eaten calendar integration playlist really
just so much more on those video landing pages. The
idea here is to actually give you the tools you need to
make videos that convert it’s not just a generic kind of stock
video that’s out there somewhere on social it’s. Actually everything you need to
succeed when using video for your business now,
if you want to send someone a link to a demo video that’s really
all you can do you can just send them a link to this kind of generic, Vimeo video
page and that’s really it? And now the difference is like when you want to send someone out.
Video there’s a million ways we can do that here’s what it looks like
right inside of Gmail or Outlook or LinkedIn or anything like that I
can just click and access my library of videos and then I can insert that video. Personalize
it and so much more. Just in an instant. You can
see, so that video is now ready to go. And this is going to have a complete custom video.
Landing page already built for it. Based on my settings so that’s what it
looks like when we’re using videos with dub versus when we’re just sending them
a generic link inside of an email to a Vimeo video
page, so dub not only automatically generates these custom landing
pages. All these powerful features. It also gives you these animated GIF previews automatically
and these can be sent through SMS or email or social channels or
so much more. Now in addition to just these one to 1 sends dub
also has built in features for sending out large broadcasts and
even automation. So here’s an example of what it looks like. This
was one video that was sent to 18,000 people. You can see specifically who
watched that video and what percentage of the video that they watched now, I didn’t actually stress. The significance
of this enough. This is a huge, huge deal, because with
Vimeo you’re not going to be able to see these type of analytics they’re only offering
me the same type of analytics that like YouTube would provide how the video is performing
what the watch rate is. How much of the video is getting watched
on average? Whereas with debt you’re gonna be able to see, specifically
who watch that video? What percentage of that video that
they watch? If they clicked any call to actions, which ones they clicked all
that stuff is tracked by dub and that is really huge and crucial for
video for sales and marketing Ops. Because now we can see specifically
who’s engaging with this content and how they’re engaging with it? We can score the leads. We
can just have so much more intelligence for follow up versus just knowing how a video
is performing so again that’s a huge, huge difference. There is the level
of tracking. We also talked about the ability to send out in bulk and lastly we’re
talking about some automation here, so you can actually build out entire sequences of like a marketing
automation platform that it’s all built in within dub. And it can
even send out emails you can send out text messages. So these workflows can really be
as simple or as complex as you need them to be. It can have delays you can have if then
statements you can do add them to additional campaigns, lots and
lots of different complexities we can build with these workflows and again, this is all part of
Deb? This is all built into Deb. So that’s what I meant by dust can do everything
that the MO can. Plus so much more okay, so we talked
about the similarities with the creation and the kind of a little bit of
customization. And then the hosting features really that’s all the demo does is
hosting so in addition to offering all those same
features dub also provides all the custom landing pages. It also
offers as I mentioned this email automation either bulk sending or through automation.
And as part of that, you have email templates so that you can build out. Nice fancy
email campaigns. They can have your logos in with buttons. And so
that’s why your emails look much fancier than just kind of a standard one that
I showed you there. So you can send them out quick and easy or you can send them out nice and fancy
like a marketing automation platform. All kind of built into Deb. And as I
mentioned the most powerful part of that is the tracking really being able to see
who’s engaging with that at scale is really important. And this is
really where Vimeo is lacking, so it’s actually more like
YouTube and its performance. It attracts and it’s really crucial for sales
enablement to have this level of reporting versus what you
get with YouTube, okay? So now we’ve really compared to platforms
in terms of what they can and can’t do now let’s go ahead and
just wrap up with pricing here with Vimeo. We are
on the reason actually there’s a couple of plans that actually aren’t
listed here. And the reason I start here is because those plans really aren’t an
option because they don’t even offer calls to action. So videos without
custom branding and calls to action, you may as well be using YouTube so they’re
not even in consideration here. So what we start with is this
plan here it’s 5 99 per year. It says 50 months build annually.
So it’s 5 99 a year. And as I mentioned, the reason I actually start here is because this
is the first plan that offers calls to action and offers some branding
and those are absolutely critical when using video for
business. So that’s what pricing looks like at the starting
point for Vimeo? And of course, they have much higher plans premium, 75
dollars per month. Just has a little bit higher limitations a little bit more support. Some
things like that audience chat and then of course, enterprise is
contact for pricing. So when I compare this to dogs plans
we’re actually looking at a much different kind of place here. So the course of
starter package, they have a free plan. But this does have the dub branding and things like that. We mentioned not
really a good option for one using for business so the
real plan that we’re looking at is three and 84 per year. This is 40 dollars per month is
3 84 per year let’s. Go ahead and get the annual switch, so
really we’re looking at 3 84 per year versus 5 99 per
year for all those comparable features that we talked about. But
also all those other features that dub provides that is just
not included with me. Like the most important one. The tracking knowing
who’s watching what percentage of the video that alone is worth the difference here. But
like I said, Vimeo is about 36% more expensive 5 99 versus
the 384 so that’s really the difference between the entry
level prices dub does have a higher tier price plan as well. This has just
a ton. More support and then also increase contact. So
if you’re a larger organization, the Pro. Plus maybe actually the plan
for you. Which is comparable to demo is kind of premium plan.
But as I mentioned has so much more involved with it than just
the basic things that Vimeo offers themes really a video hosting solution
and that’s where their platform ends. It doesn’t have the ability to
kind of customize these videos for sales or marketing purposes or for
sending them out for that matter. The tracking is just not there. I
hope you guys have found some value in today’s videos we’ve really done a nice job of comparing
the features and the pricing and the benefits of these platforms. And in
conclusion we’ve kind of realized dub is going to do everything that Vimeo does.
Maybe Vino has just a couple of more little things in terms
of customizing. Like the video player really not a lot. They are different, though.
And where devs going to provide all those features? We mentioned for that lower price.
So thanks for watching, guys. Stay tuned to the next 1.
