As a sales or marketing professional, you are undoubtedly focused on hitting your short-term and long-term goals. While those goals may vary, the end result centers on better relationships with prospects and more conversions.

While these goals are easy to identify, actually accomplishing them is a much different story. From identifying warm prospects to convincing them to actually purchase your product or service, it can be difficult to actually accomplish all of our goals.

At Dubb, we are laser-focused on helping businesses and individuals unlock the power of video. We have seen it ourselves: video can be a true game-changer for your business or organization. Yes, the simple fact of creating compelling video content is an excellent way to build stronger relationships with any type of prospect. But at the same time, there is just as much value in easily sending and tracking your sales and marketing videos. By easily sending your video content to your chosen audience and tracking how that audience interacts with your videos, you maximize your chances of accomplishing your goals and generating more sales.

Consequently, we are going to spend this post speaking about how to send and track videos. The great news is that with Dubb, you can easily distribute your videos and get a wealth of data about who actually watches your videos. With that data, you can then better engage with those prospects and get them much closer to buying your product or service.

So are you ready? Let’s take a deep dive into the topic so that you can most effectively use Dubb videos to engage with your audiences.

Creating a Dubb Account and Your First Video

To take advantage of the distribution and tracking features that Dubb provides, you will need to do several things. First, you will need to create a Dubb account. If you already have a Dubb account, feel free to skip this step. If you don’t yet have an account, however, you can sign up for a new account by clicking here. In doing so, you can gain access to a free 14-day trial of our premium plans.

Once you have a Dubb account, you will need some type of video to share. If you already have a video that you have recorded, you can easily upload it to Dubb. Once you do that, you can distribute it through Dubb’s software and leverage the tracking that we’ll discuss below.

If you haven’t yet created a video, you’ll be happy to know that there are plenty of ways that you can do it through Dubb. The power comes from the Dubb mobile app, the Dubb Chrome extension, and the Dubb desktop app.

The Dubb mobile app (which you can find here) lets you record and edit stunning footage wherever you are. The mobile app includes features like the ability to record in clips, add text and music to your videos, and more. Once you are finished recording and editing, your video is automatically uploaded to the Dubb ecosystem, making it an extremely easy way to create content throughout your day.

Then, there is the Dubb Chrome extension. The Dubb Chrome extension (which you can find here) is a vital tool that lets you record several different types of videos. First, you can easily record through your device’s webcam. Beyond that, however, you can create screen recording videos. Screen recording videos are fantastic tools because they can visually represent something that you are describing. You can use them in everything from a tutorial video to a walkthrough video on a contract that you want a prospect to sign. The Dubb Chrome extension also lets you easily send your video content through Gmail, Outlook, and so many other email platforms.

Finally, there is the Dubb desktop app. You can find it here. Ultimately, it lets you easily record and share dynamic videos from your desktop. You can find it for Mac OS and Windows devices. It is yet another way that you can record and edit stellar video footage from the devices that you already have.

No matter how you choose to do it, Dubb offers you plenty of tools to create high-quality sales and marketing videos. Whether you choose to create one video right now or a series of sales videos, you can be confident in the tools that Dubb provides.

Sharing Your Video: One-to-One

From this point, this discussion of how to send and track videos moves on to discuss sharing and distribution. Using Dubb, there are several different ways to do this. We are going to start by sending a video to one specific person or target. Below, we are then going to discuss sending a video to a much larger group of people.

You can easily share your video directly from the Dubb platform. Once you navigate to your video, you can click on the “Share & Send” button. Once you click on that button, you will see that this is where the tracking takes place. Specifically, Dubb instructs you to add a name or email for tracking. If you have already entered the name or email into Dubb’s database, you will see that the entry automatically populates as you are typing it. However, if it is a brand new contact, you will need to type out the entire email address or name. Once you have done that, Dubb will connect that name or email for one time that you have sent the video. In other words, it isn’t permanently connected to that specific video. It is for a one-time send. In this case study, it is appropriate because we want to see whether that one specific prospect watched the video (and the percentage of the video that they watched).

From there, Dubb also gives you the option to add personalization text. Personalization text is a fantastic way to make your video that much more customized. Whatever you choose to include as the personalization text, that text will appear directly above your video. For instance, you can say something like “Video for _____,” where the blank represents the viewer’s name. This small detail may make the difference between a viewer clicking on your video and a potential viewer moving on to something else.

Once you have finished entering your personalization text, you can click on the “copy for email” button. By doing that, you can paste your video (and personalization text) into essentially any channel that you want. It can go into an email, social media post, text message, and more.

If you choose to send that video in an email, for instance, you can paste it into your chosen email. Once you do that, you will notice that a three-second animated GIF appears. This is another feature that automatically comes from Dubb. The GIF is another way to entice your viewers to click on the play button and consume your content. Dubb gives you the option to customize which three seconds you want to include as the animated GIF. And if you don’t like the three-second animated GIF, you can include a still thumbnail.

To reiterate, the same thing works if you are sending your video through social media, CRM systems, or text message. While it may look just a little bit different before you send it, Dubb gives you the functionality to distribute your video content wherever you’d like. For instance, after you send your video through LinkedIn, you will see the video’s thumbnail and the link. On the other hand, if you were sending your video through a CRM system, you would see a GIF before sending it.

Once your prospect clicks on the animated GIF (or still image), they will be taken to a Dubb video landing page. That video landing page is automatically created for every video that you create on Dubb or upload to Dubb. The great thing about your video landing pages is that they can be customized however you’d like. For instance, on every single video landing page, you can add your company’s logo and your brand colors. That being said, it gets better. Below your video, you can include call to action buttons. These call to actions buttons can help you strengthen the prospect relationship and get you that much closer to a sale. Some of the many calls to action that you can use include having the viewer download a white paper or eBook, directly schedule a call on your calendar, reply to your video with a video of their own, or even purchase your product or service. Calls to action are extremely powerful tools on your Dubb video landing pages, so make sure that you take advantage of them.

Now, let’s assume that your prospect opened your email and clicked on the GIF or thumbnail. Because we added the prospect’s email, we will get some invaluable tracking data. Let’s dive more into this now.

Tracking Videos: One-to-One

The other part of the “how to send and track videos” equation focuses on data and analytics. Let’s continue with this hypothetical of sending a video to a specific prospect. If we are sending videos one-to-one through email, we will get specific information on how that prospect interacts with that video.

At the most basic level, we can see whether that prospect actually watched the video. This is the sort of tracking and analytics that you would get on other video platforms (like YouTube or Vimeo). Dubb, however, goes beyond this. Using Dubb, you can see the percentage of the video that your prospect has watched. If you include call to action buttons below your video (which we recommend that you do), you can even see whether that prospect has clicked on any of those buttons.

As you can probably guess, this is a huge advantage for sales professionals and marketers. Using Dubb, you are getting a granular look at how your viewers are actually interacting with your videos. With that knowledge, you can then more effectively interact with that prospect, whether it is through another video or an in-person meeting. This substantially increases the chances of you building a better relationship with your prospect (and even generating a sale).

The key to sales is adding value throughout the sales process. No matter the product or service that you are selling, you want to ensure that you are making your prospects’ lives slightly better. Part of doing so is ensuring that you aren’t wasting their time and that you are efficiently engaging with them. The data and analytics that Dubb offers lets you do this, whether you are speaking with a brand new prospect or a customer who has known your company for years.

Sharing and Tracking Your Videos: One-to-Many

To this point, we have talked about sending and tracking a video that is sent to a specific prospect. This is a great way to individually engage with members of your audience. That being said, what if you want to send a video to more than one person? What if you want to send that video to an extremely large email list? And what if you want to see how the entire list (and individual members of that list) interacted with your campaign?

The great news is that you can do so with Dubb. Dubb offers in-house tools to send your video content to a large audience (even tens of thousands of people). To do so, you will want to go to your Dubb dashboard and then click on the “Marketing” tab. Then, you will want to click on the “Campaigns” and “Email” tabs. To create a new campaign, you will want to click on the “+ New” button that is on the top right of the screen. There are plenty of different options that you can leverage here, including the ability to add those call to action buttons, add an animated GIF, and more.

Once you have sent that campaign to your chosen recipients, you can then track their behavior. Like the above, you can see whether individual recipients actually watched the video, and if so, how much of the video that they watched. You can also filter by metrics like email opens, email clicks, call to action clicks, and more. Then, once you have filtered the audience behavior according to your needs, you can download that data into a CSV file.

If you want general statistics? No problem. You can get a basic overview of metrics like clickthrough rates, watch rates, and even emoji reaction rates. Our goal at Dubb was to give our users as much actionable data as possible, so we encourage you to use this data to better engage with your viewers and prospects.

At this point, when discussing sending videos to a large audience, we have mentioned the campaign tool within Dubb. Dubb also offers an automation tool. This tool let you automatically send emails and video content according to whatever instructions you’d like. You can also incorporate tools like delays to ensure that you aren’t overwhelming your target audience with content.

Automated outreach can be a true game changer. For starters, your video content is automatically being sent to cold (and warm) prospects—even when you are sleeping. While you spend your valuable time on other important tasks, you can be sure that your automated workflows are engaging your audience. Not only that, but you can gather plenty of data from your automations. Using this data, you can tweak your video content and your automations themselves. At Dubb, we highly recommend that our users take advantage of these automation tools. You will thank yourself later.

Let’s go one step further. Let’s say that you want to send a Dubb video to a large audience through a third-party tool. By third-party tool, I’m talking about something like MailChimp, HubSpot, or another marketing tool or CRM. If you want to send your Dubb videos through these tools, you will not get the same level of analytics as you would through Dubb. In other words, you can use the copy and paste function (that we mentioned above) and place it into a CRM or marketing tool like MailChimp. However, by doing this, you won’t get the granular level of data and tracking that we have been discussing above. No matter your choice, just be aware of this as you are moving forward.

If you have any questions about this, I encourage you to check out the many tutorials that we have on Dubb’s website. You can search for whatever tool you want (like MailChimp) and you will find more information on how to send Dubb videos through your chosen platform or tool.

Moving Forward

We started this post by raising the question of how to send and track videos. Using Dubb, I hope you can see how easy (and valuable) this is. Whether you want to send a single, hyper-personalized video to a specific prospect or a much broader sales video to a larger audience, you can easily do so through Dubb. Better yet, you can get immensely valuable tracking data on your videos, which makes it much easier to engage with your prospects and generate more sales.

In the end, the best time to get started is right now. So if you haven’t done so already, go ahead and sign up for a Dubb account. Create a video and use the tools and strategies above to send that video to a person (or group of people). Once you have done that, go to the Dubb dashboard and see how your audience is interacting with that video. By doing all of this, you will be in a fantastic position to develop stronger relationships with your audience and increase your conversion rate. Best of luck!
