Want to become a better leader? 🤔
You have come to the right place. 💪
We’re living in a world where authentic relationships and transparency are critical elements of leadership. The old-school ways of fire and brimstone leadership are essentially over. Instead, leaders (or would-be leaders) need to connect with their team in more effective ways. While this shift in thinking may be unusual or intimidating for some leaders, it is the best solution for getting the most out of your colleagues and organization as a whole.
To learn more about authentic leadership and improving your leadership skills, Dubb founder CEO spoke with Nadene Joy. The conversation was part of Dubb’s Action Summit, where high- performers in many fields come together to share actionable tips, insights, and strategies to succeed in business.
Nadene Joy is the CEO of Nadene Joy Consulting Inc. Being in business for over one decade, Nadene helps her clients better develop their leadership skills and impact others’ lives. In her conversation with Ruben, you will hear many awesome insights on how to become a better leader. Some of the actionable tips and strategies you will hear include:
👊 People in today’s day and age have had time to step back and truly think about what they want out of life. From the leaders that Nadene has worked with, she has seen that authentic leadership is a common theme. Leaders today want to remove the masks that they used to wear and really get to the core of who they are.
👊 Ultimately, leaders should not play the blame game. It’s more about being transparent and open with the expectations that are going on. While it may seem uncomfortable at the moment, staying honest and true to yourself makes for a better leader. And if you have a mistake? Don’t hesitate to own up to it.
👊 Leadership today is also about being able to adapt. Adaptation can mean many things, but one of the most important is to adapt your communication style with your team. Every organization has a wide array of personality styles. As a leader, you must identify the personality types among your team and the words you can use to engage with and motivate that team.
👊 Empathy is a core part of today’s leadership. Leaders need to be able to step into their colleagues’ shoes and understand their perspectives on their work. This can be everything from the project on their desk to the organization’s market strategy. While some may find it harder to be more empathetic than others, this is a critical trait that’ll of us can improve.
Whether you have just obtained a new management position or want to become a more effective CEO for your company, there is plenty that you can learn from this conversation. Sit back, jot down a few notes if you’d like, and enjoy this thought-provoking discussion with Ruben and Nadene.
