Receiving information audibly, or through text, means that <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/contentmarketing.com\/2016\/09\/12\/text-vs-visuals-the-advantages-of-each-in-content-marketing\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">only 10%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of people will recall what was specifically said 3 days later \u2013 the rest will forget or just wave their hands around and generalize. \u00a0Because when we see images \u2013 especially moving images \u2013 we are more engaged and entertained. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/tjmccue\/2013\/01\/08\/what-is-an-infographic-and-ways-to-make-it-go-viral\/#4b1c05b27272\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">65% <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of people are visual learners: meaning they\u2019ll process visual information much more easily and much more quickly than text. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Video in marketing is a go-to at this point \u2013 but that doesn\u2019t mean everyone knows the best practices to incorporate it. That\u2019s where we come in:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 1: Don\u2019t be afraid to get weird.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/video-marketing-statistics?__hstc=165127776.0a3e1f166a0720121c5d95af0724887a.1548451965333.1548451965333.1548451965333.1&amp;__hssc=165127776.1.1548451965333&amp;__hsfp=2584898834#sm.00014mjznrei4frwval1vlnlm0bdo\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">73% <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of worldwide consumers respond to videos that are \u201centertaining\u201d. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don\u2019t be too conservative: take a chance on jokes<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spontaneity, contradiction, shared experience, and outlandish behavior create memorability: and of course, the more memorable, the more successful! <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But remember: don\u2019t make fun of puppies. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 2: Know your audience<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make sure you heavily research your potential consumers. The video you make for a church group for 50-year old singles \u00a0may not be the same one you make 20-year old married surfers. Or maybe it will be \u2013 but you would know if you researched your audience.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your video will not make an impact if it\u2019s made for the wrong crowd. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 3: Have clear goals<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are you trying to sell tickets? Do you want to get people to donate? Should people buy your next big idea? When you have a clear goal, your video strategy becomes more clear, too.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And make your intentions clear to the audience: don\u2019t forget to say who you are, and what you\u2019re selling. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 4: Tell a story<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Consumers want a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/edubirdie.com\/blog\/consumer-trust-in-forms-of-advertisement\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">personal connection<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when they gather information: even when they watch commercials.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The more emotional connection, the more people will be persuaded by your marketing<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our brains can\u2019t tell the difference between a story and what we\u2019re experiencing in real life: the same parts of the brain light up. So when your marketing video tells a story, the viewer\u2019s brain thinks they\u2019ve experienced that story \u2013 which creates an emotional connection \u2013 which ups your chances of gaining a customer.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 5: Timing is everything<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When incorporating videos in marketing, don\u2019t talk for too long. Keep sentences short. Keep information straightforward. And remember that consumers decide quickly if they want to keep paying attention.
