Wistia Pricing vs. Dubb Pricing: A Side-by-Side Comparison

This blog post serves as a side-by-side comparison of Wistia pricing and Dubb pricing. Along with this, we want to share some of the features and benefits of both platforms so that you can make the best possible decision for your company.

Wistia Pricing Structure

To start, let’s take a look at Wistia’s pricing structure. Wistia offers both sales and marketing tools. Specifically, Wistia’s separate sales tool is called Soapbox. If you are using video in your marketing work (as you should), you should also be using a video for sales process.

Wistia’s sales and marketing tools have a four-tier structure. Generally speaking, prices range from $0-$999 per month. Below, you will find a more detailed description of each pricing structure.

Wistia’s Free Plan

When discussing Wistia pricing, it’s natural to start with Wistia’s free plan. Obviously, it costs nothing to get started. This free tier offers so-called “standard features” like a fully customizable video player, basic integrations (like Mailchimp and Keap), easy embedding and sharing, interactive video tools, and advanced analytics. Users of this free tier also get three videos to embed anywhere, one shareable channel through a public Wistia link, up to 250 subscribers, and A/B testing. Using Wistia’s free plan, however, you will see that Wistia branding is included on your video player.

Soapbox also offers a free tier. As part of this free tier, Soapbox users can create unlimited Soapbox videos, include links at the end of videos, customize the video player’s color, leverage screencast and split-screen views, generate unique video thumbnails, and export their Soapbox videos to their Wistia accounts. Once again, as part of this free plan, users are implicitly agreeing to Wistia branding on essentially everything.

Pro Plan

Beyond these free plans for Wistia’s sales and marketing tools, the next tier of Wistia pricing is the so-called “Pro” plan.

Let’s start with Wistia’s marketing Pro plan. It costs $99 per month ($1188 per year) and has all of the features in Wistia’s free plan.

Wistia Hosting Price

That said, it goes further by offering ten videos that you can embed anywhere. If you need more than ten videos, you can pay $0.25 per video per month. As a pro plan subscriber, you also can take advantage of email notifications with your channel subscribers (up to 250) and add your own branding to the Wistia video player. Several shortcomings, however, are that you only have one channel to share via public Wistia link and that you do not get premium integrations or support.

Soapbox’s most basic paid plan is called the Solo plan. For $25 per month ($300 per year), Soapbox Solo users get everything in the Soapbox free tier.

Wistia Soapbox Price

They also get the ability to download videos for sharing, track engagement and conversions, receive notifications, customize video pages with company logos, and directly book meetings from videos.

Soapbox also offers a more advanced plan for teams. Compared to the other plans, Wistia does not list a price. You will have to reach out for more information about this specific Wistia pricing. That said, with the team plan, you get everything in Soapbox’s Free and Solo plans, along with default branding, engagement and conversion data for all users, and the ability to review videos from multiple users in one place.

Advanced Tiers

Wistia also offers more advanced tiers for its marketing tool. They offer more features and cater to larger groups, yet they are more expensive than the other Wistia pricing that we have discussed.

Unfortunately, Wistia’s pricing for its advanced tiers isn’t publicly stated. Nonetheless, noted peer-to-peer review site G2 states that there is an Advanced plan and a Premium plan. The Advanced plan is $399 per month ($4788 per year) and the Premium plan is $999 per month ($11,988 per year).

Wistia Advanced Price

With Wistia’s Advanced plan, users get all features from Wistia’s lower tiers, along with 100 free videos included, one premium integration with HubSpot, Pardot, or Marketo, more than 250 channel subscribers, Facebook Custom Audiences integration, and priority support.

Wistia’s Premium plan goes one step further than the Advanced plan. Most notably, what separates this Wistia pricing plan from the others is the level of support. With this pricing option, you will have access to 24/7 emergency support, technical support, and a dedicated success manager.

Dubb Pricing Structure

As you can see, Wistia’s pricing structure offers alternatives for users with different team sizes and budgets. Dubb does the same, although the prices and included features differ.

But let’s back up. As you likely know, Dubb is a video communication platform that lets you record, host, share, and track video engagement on videos embedded on web pages, or videos sent through messages via Gmail, Outlook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, SMS and through CRM integrations.

Dubb has many of the same features as Wistia’s hosting solution, but with a few major differences. We’ll talk about some feature differences in a moment. At this time, let’s further explore Dubb’s pricing tiers.

Dubb’s Free Plan

Like Wistia pricing, Dubb offers a free plan to its users. As you will see, one of the major differences with Wistia is that Dubb has its sales and marketing features in one stack. To put it another way, you don’t need to purchase one plan for sales features and another for marketing features. Dubb’s marketing stack includes everything from embedding and hosting to unlimited storage.

Looking at the free plan specifically, you can access a wealth of features, including self-serve usage, a Chrome Extension, unlimited storage, Gmail and Outlook add-ons, mobile and desktop apps, and a plethora of integrations. Compared to Wistia, there are no limits as to the number of videos that you can embed. Like Wistia, however, Dubb’s free plan includes Dubb branding.

Dubb’s Pro Plan

From Dubb’s free plan, you can also take advantage of Dubb’s Pro plan. The Pro plan is a great option for individuals and small teams. It costs $40 per month or $384 per year. However, if you pay for one year upfront, you can get Dubb’s Pro plan for $32 per month ($384 per year).

Dubb Price

With Dubb’s Pro plan, you get everything in Dubb’s free plan, along with features like HD video, custom logos and subdomains, calls-to-action, custom landing pages, and more. To reiterate, you can create, host, and share an unlimited number of videos, which can be a huge advantage if you’re working with a larger team. Finally, with Dubb’s Pro plan, you get to remove Dubb branding from your content.

Dubb’s Pro Plus Plan

Dubb’s most feature-rich plan is called the Pro Plus plan. This plan is primarily catered toward enterprise and larger teams. If you were to compare plans, it is closest to Wistia’s Advanced plan.

Dubb’s Pro Plus plan is $99 per month (or $80 per month if paying for one year in advance).

Dubb Pro Price

As you can guess, the Pro Plus plan includes everything from the Pro plan. But along with that, users can get access to a defined success manager, phone support, 50,000 contacts, custom integration, scripts, and email templates, and API access. Compared to Wistia’s Premium plan, however, Dubb does not provide 24/7 emergency support.

Feature Comparison

As you can see, Wistia pricing and Dubb pricing differs. No matter which plan you select, Dubb is going to be more affordable. Dubb’s marketing and sales tools are all in one stack, meaning that you won’t need to subscribe to multiple services. There isn’t any limit to the number of videos you can upload under Dubb, but Wistia offers 24/7 emergency support under its Premium plan.

That being said, these aren’t the only differences between Wistia and Dubb. While we alluded to some of the different features above, let’s take a deeper dive into what you’ll get with Wistia and Dubb.

As a general overview, here are some of the main differences in both the Wistia and Dubb platforms.

Specifically, there are several important differences that we’d like to highlight.

Multiple Calls-To-Action

One of the primary differences between Dubb and Wistia is Dubb’s Call-to-action feature. A Call-to-action, or CTA  for short, is an instruction to the audience designed to provoke an immediate response. CTA’s have been shown to increase conversions and sales dramatically. CTA’s will only be available for videos sent as messages and not with embedded videos.

Multiple Calls to actions

Dubb’s CTA feature provides a clickable, customizable button that appears below the video. The button is easy to create and can be programmed to perform in several ways.

  1. Email Replies – You can program the button to have the recipient reply to any email of your choice with just one click
  2. Phone Replies – If you are sending videos via SMS you can have the recipient reply with a call or text with just one click from their smartphone.
  3. URL – You send the recipient to any URL of your choice with just one click. You can have them visit a website, download a file, etc.
  4. Facebook Messenger – You can program the button to open a conversation on Facebook Messenger with the person of your choice with just one click.
  5. Calendar- You can program your CTA to take the recipient right to your booking calendar. If you have Calendly or Acuity, your calendar will be on the same page as the video.

Exit-Intent

The Dubb CTA feature doesn’t stop there. There is also an exit-intent module that, when selected, provides a pop up with your CTA and description when a recipient tries to exit the page without clicking the CTA.

Personalization Text

Another powerful feature that is unique to Dubb is Personalization Text. Instead of holding up a whiteboard in your videos to connect with your recipient, you can use technology to add a personalization element to all of your videos.

Personalization Text feature

If you are sending one-to-one videos or trying to reach your entire database with a single email, Dubb’s personalization text feature allows you to add a personal message to every video. The technology works in unison with your CRM or email sending platform to send hyper-personalized videos, without the heavy lifting of having to hold a whiteboard up and record a new video for each recipient.
