This blog post provides a detailed overview of what a business needs from a video hosting solution. It provides a side-by-side comparison of the video hosting features of Dubb, Vidyard, and Wistia. This video is brought to you by Dubb.

Below is a transcript of the video:

today’s video is about video hosting for business so not just video hosting like we’re not storing family photos or anything like that we’re talking about video hosting for the purposes of sales and marketing how to use video for business growth so let’s go the first thing we’re gonna talk about is some hosting requirements and again this is specific for sales and marketing this isn’t just like generic business video hosting because I’ve nothing against YouTube it’s absolutely critical for hosting your business videos that should be seen by people but this is more specific now I’ll get into the reasons why I’ve left out a couple of platforms and why I have included the ones I have today so I’m good here so the first thing here is going to be including tracking and analytics now you guys are familiar with analytics like those that are provided by YouTube you know how the video is performing number of watches and things like that now those are okay but for the purposes of sales any marketing we really need more detailed level of tracking analytics so the solutions i’ve we’re gonna cover today and the reason i’ve left a couple of the other ones out like YouTube and Vimeo is because they don’t provide this level of tracking and analytics so the platforms I’m going to include Wistia vidyard and dub they do actually provide that level of tracking and analytics they’re gonna show you specifically who watched the video and what percentage of that video that they watch and now this isn’t on every single embed video I’m embedded everywhere this is mostly on videos that are on specific landing pages and also that are sent through email services so just some some prerequisites for that tracking that that hyper detailed tracking at least but the analytics of you know what percentage videos being watched that’s really critical and something that we need to know and that’s provided by that the solutions the next thing also kind of left out from the other things like YouTube and Vimeo are going to be included in the other solutions which is call to actions so the definition of a call to action can kind of vary maybe you have it in the video itself where you’re saying hey I want you to click here or signing or go here whatever or it’s actually a link in the description which is really the best thing we can get with with YouTube and with Vimeo is either verbal call out in the video or a link in the description for them to click on and then with the platform’s I’ve included today these these CTAs really have taken it a step further there they’re interactive they have much more than just a link redirection and they’re much more attractive than just a link in a description meaning more attractive CTAs means better conversions more sales more revenue so must include a CTA that’s also going to be one of the separating determining factors here of the platform’s great cover the next thing is it must include branding and exclude distractions so there is a plan for Vimeo that does allow you to upload a logo and exclude advertisements same thing for YouTube except for you can’t include your own branding there so that’s kind of again why some of these hosting platforms were left out because that’s exclusively what they do is video hosting and they don’t have the interactive element and the tracking features that we need to really use video to drive sales and to inform marketing of proper decisions so that’s why these these these three prerequisites the tracking CTA S and branding are really what I’ve used to isolate the three platforms we’re gonna cover today and why I’ve left out maybe some other hosting services you have heard of okay so with those things in mind let’s actually take a look at this so so including the branding and distractions I might be obvious but you know here’s a video hosted on YouTube just how do you know business videos what I search for and you can just hear there’s advertisements distractions there’s so much to that’s gonna lose our lead lose our sales opportunity that we absolutely cannot send them here not to mention our logo isn’t anywhere except for maybe in a video itself like I said our best chance of a conversion is getting them to click the link in the description so that is is what it looks like when we’re hosting a video on YouTube now the alternative is actually hosting a video on something like Wistia video or dub now the difference you can see here is is plain these pages are branded they have pop up features this is actually looks like an exit intent popups when you go to exit the page you can interact with these calltoaction buttons so you’re seeing all those elements that I was describing here the branding the zero distractions the call to actions so you can see there’s a calendar integration there’s a link Direction there’s video reply so tons of functionality you actually have here on these video pages versus sending them to just a YouTube video and then not only that not only the functionality and the branding and the brand recognition and awareness but also the tracking and analytics so I can see specifically what percentage of this video that they watched if they clicked any of these buttons I know down to every detail how this person I sent this video to engage with this and that really is critical for sales and marketing opportunities so now you can kind of see what this example looks like let’s go ahead and compare these platforms so we’re the three that we’ve isolated are really some of the biggest players in the games Wistia and vidyard and dub and now we’re not going to dive too deep into feature sets today that is in another video you can definitely check those out on the channel we’re gonna really you know dive deep into a head head comparisons between the two and even the three platforms pricing features etc so definitely check those out but in this video today we’re just talking about the hosting solutions specifically and how video for hosting video hosting for business is really different than just you know regular generic video hosting and so that’s why we’ve chosen these three platforms is they do actually provide all these same things the branding the tracking and the calls to action which are really critical for using video to actually create conversions and sales so with the similarities in mind there’s really actually these three platforms probably have more in common than they do different all three are going to provide video hosting and then pages where you’re able to upload your own logos the branding and the call to actions and then also the level of analytics where you’re seeing specifically who watched what percentage of the video so those three things are in common with the platform now there are a couple of differences between them so dub is actually going to also include a marketing automation platform along with a subscription for the video hosting so there is an own ability to separate those so let’s actually go ahead and jump into some pricing so for Wistia the hosting solution is to have a free option which is a couple of videos but this really does not hit the mark of what those prerequisites we listed are so they’re not going to include call to actions and it’s not going to be planned it’s going to be Wistia branding so for business especially for sales and marketing we want to look polished we want to be branded we want to look like we have all our ducks in a row and branding is really a critical part of that so pricing really starts here at the $ per month plan and that’s gonna allow us to have our call to actions and also have brain that we want there so this is whistie is hosting plan where it starts that’s next let’s take a look at video arts which also has a lowerpriced plan that $ a month plan it actually does remove the branding as well but it doesn’t include the interactive CTA so it doesn’t have their full host of features and you’re also limited as to the number of videos you can embed so this plan here is again $ per month is where they’re hosting features their main tier is this includes all the features they have besides those that are really more for the enterprise focus features so between and firfer they’re allinclusive stock but really the interactive call to actions and the branding are the things we need at a baseline so that’s about $ per month and then now with dub there’s actually two different plans because I mentioned dub has a separate feature of an entire marketing automation tool that includes the ability to build out art mod mitad email sequences drip campaigns and and ways to reach out via email through things like LinkedIn and lots of different integrations that they have but that is also included in this this pro plan here that’s $ per month so not only do they have unlimited hosting and embedding features and also some of the embedding options are a little bit different than we can get with with our with it with vidyard and Wistia as well here’s what some of the embedding options look like with dub video so you have that widget video there and a regular embedded video and the call to action buttons actually get displayed on top of the video as well so you’re getting this TTA’s you’re getting the feed to branding and also multiple embedding options and it’s actually unlimited whereas with the vidyard and Wistia there is some limits as to the number of videos you can upload on their plans and then they’re all finally there’s an internal support plan that does provide the the options for sharing the videos that doesn’t include the marketing automation section so if all you need is the video so part of it and not the marketing automation there is another plan however the sales and marketing tool this includes everything that the platform has to offer and they’re really only the difference here is the level of support between these two plans and also the level of integration or custom options that would be made available to you on this Pro Plus and so really that’s where we’ve come down to there’s really a kiss had more in common with these plans than there are different the majority of the things that we listed in the as prerequisites are really the important factors that all three of these platforms tick off so it just comes down to a matter of pricing and then also maybe a few features on on the end of it um it’s definitely worth a look at seeing which features you prefer doves definitely going to be the better deal in terms of pricing and also functionality because you really can have the ability to send those videos out you have the ability to track them through automatic campaigns so if you already have a marketing automation system and things like that then you might consider using the lower tiered price of dub and it has all the same features that the starter packages are gonna have here on the video and Wistia plans um so if for some reason there’s a feature here that you’ve seen that is is powerful for you then let that be your deciding factor however if it comes down to just the bare bones of what you need and also the belt all the bells and whistles of what make video effective like the call to action the convert exit intent popups all the features that are really designed to make video effective effectively create conversions that’s what’s included in dub stack so I would definitely say give it a shot there’s even the free trial if you’re considering choosing a solution for video hosting so I hope you guys have found value in this video I know that you will if you’re considering looking at a solution for a video hosting so check it out for yourself thanks for watching
