As a digital entrepreneur, manager, or creator, you are probably looking for some of the best online video creation tools. After all, you are likely creating all different types of content for your audiences. From sending out quick videos to brand new prospects to creating a more detailed video about a new product or service, video lets you build those close connections with your customers. Yet while it is critical to develop stellar content ideas, it is just as important to edit and polish those videos before sending them to your audience.

In this post, I sat down with the Dubb team and developed our list of the best online video creation tools. These tools are extremely useful and effective. Not only can they help you create better videos, but they can save you both time and money.

So are you ready to join me in exploring these online video creation tools? Let’s get straight into it.

Kapwing.com and Veed.io

To start, I want to talk about two separate tools at the same time. Those tools are Kapwing.com and Veed.io. They both have similar features, so it is useful to simultaneously discuss them.

At their core, both Kapwing and Veed.io are editing tools. They are tools for quick edits and trips to your video. They are especially useful in cutting videos so that they can be easily shared on social media. Since sharing videos on social media is critical for any sales or marketing strategy, both of these platforms can be vital.

While both Kapwing and Veed.io can help you edit your videos for social media, there are some subtle differences that you should account for. With Kapwing, it is all about the individual use case. Kapwing is a great solution for a wide variety of quick editing tasks, including quick trips, adapting media for different aspect ratios, adding loading bars, meme text, and subtitles, loop, flip, or filter videos, or even just create a quick meme. Because you’ll often encounter these sorts of tasks when creating content for your audiences, it is important to keep Kapwing in mind.

Kapwing

Veed.io is similar to Kapwing in that you can make quick edits to your videos. That being said, Veed.io is more focused on social media applications. It is a great solution for social media managers that are looking for an easier way to edit their videos. Using Veed.io, you can do everything from adding effects and trimming videos to auto-transcribing your videos.

Veed.io

The great news is that both of these platforms have simple and intuitive user interfaces. In aggregate, their feature set adds up to be extremely powerful. That being said, Kapwing may be the more appealing option if you are looking to make ad hoc edits to a particular video. If you spend most of your time making social media videos and need to frequently make edits, however, Veed.io may be for you.

Both Kapwing and Veed.io have simple pricing. With Kapwing, you can take advantage of either a free plan or a Pro plan (which is $20 per month). The Pro plan offers some additional features over the free plan, including things like a higher file upload limit, the ability to export videos that are up to one hour long, the ability to download SRT files, the ability to upload custom fonts, and access to all tools and premium features on the Kapwing platform.

As for Veed.io, you have three choices: a free version, Basic version, and Pro version. As Veed.io says, the free version is perfect for one-off projects, projects under ten minutes, and projects that are 50 megabytes or less. That being said, the free version comes with Veed.io’s watermark attached to your video. Veed.io’s Basic plan is more targeted for individuals and small teams that need simple online video editing. That plan goes for $15 per month, but $12 per month if you pay for one year in advance. Finally, Veed.io’s Pro plan is designed for larger teams that need advanced brand and collaboration control. If you are interested in the Pro plan, you will need to pay $30 per month or $24 per month if you pay for one year in advance.

Whichever tool you choose, Kapwing and Veed.io can help you easily edit your videos. Whether you are sharing them on social media or any other channel, these tools can help you easily make professional edits.

InShot

Another one of our favorite online video creation tools is called InShot. Describing itself on its website, InShot says that you can “release your unlimited creativity.” Essentially, InShot is a lightweight video editing app that lets you do things like trim video, remove the middle part of the video, split video, merge clips, and adjust the speed of your video.

InShot can be a great tool for creators that record the entirety of their videos at once. For instance, if you are aiming to create a two-minute video, you don’t need to record the entire video at one time. Instead, you can record clips for that video and then stitch them together on InShot. If you want to spice up your video, you can also leverage InShot’s many filters and effects. Some of the filters that you can use include bright, dark, cinema 01, film 05, and glitch. If you wish, you can even add stickers and text to your videos.

If you would like to try out InShot, you can easily do so. Click here to check out its website and find instructions for downloading its iOS and Android apps. Using simple and easy-to-use tools like InShot, you can create awesome videos for your audience.

Adobe Spark

Next, I want to talk about a service called Spark from Adobe. As you likely know, Adobe is the creator behind uber-popular pieces of software like Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop. Adobe Spark is the company’s solution for creators that want to make quick video creations.

Specifically, Adobe Spark characterizes itself as an integrated suite of media creation applications for mobile and web. Using Adobe Spark, you can transform your ideas into stunning visual stories. The quick video creations that you can make can come from things like graphics, images, and videos. You can also leverage templates and music that are already included in Spark to make compelling videos. Even better, you can use Adobe Spark wherever you want. If you are working on your desktop, you can access Spark in your browser and start making awesome videos. And if you are on the go? Spark offers apps for both iOS and Android.

In the end, Spark is definitely focused on templates and for social media purposes. This program lets you mix and match video and photo content, letting you create some very unique pieces of content. Whether you are trying to create content for brand new prospects or want to engage with your current customers in a different way, Spark can be one of your favorite tools.

Ultimately, Spark is a great option. But just like the other tools on this list, I encourage you to give it a try first. Looking at Spark’s pricing page, you can see that you can choose from several different plans. The first plan is called the “Starter” plan. With the Starter plan, you can use free templates or create your own from scratch. You can pick from thousands of free images and icons for your designs. This plan is completely free and no credit card is required.

Beyond the Starter plan, Adobe Spark offers an “Individual” plan. As part of the Individual plan, you can personalize all of your designs with custom and premium ingredients. Some of the many features that you can leverage include unique designs from exclusive premium templates, a complete library of beautiful Adobe fonts and premium templates, Adobe’s “one magical tap” that lets you personalize any project with your own logo, colors, and fonts, and the absence of the Adobe Spark watermark on your projects. While it regularly costs $9.99 per month, Adobe is letting individuals try the plan for free for 14 days. If you purchase an annual prepaid plan, you can pay $99.99 per year after the trial ends.

Finally, Adobe Spark offers a “Team” plan. This plan, according to Adobe Spark, helps subscribers get organized and manage multiple users under one account. Under the Team plan, you get all of the features in Adobe Spark’s Individual plan, along with certain administrative features. Those admin features include things like consolidated ownership and billing for multiple individual licenses, the ability to reassign licenses at any time, and 24/7 technical phone support, email, chat, and forums. The Team plan goes for $19.99 per month or $239.88 if you pay for the entire year in advance.

Whichever plan that you choose, Adobe Spark can be an outstanding way to create new content for your audiences. Like the tools mentioned above, go ahead and give it a try.

Descript

Finally, I encourage you to check out Descript. Descript is another video and audio editor, yet it offers a new and different way to create awesome videos.

Typically, when you want to edit a particular part of a video, you need to jump through several different hoops. Upon opening your video, you will need to find the particular points that you want to edit, highlight those areas, press a command to remove that clip, and ensure that the remainder makes sense.

While this is a tried and true way of editing video, Descript turns this process on its head. Specifically, Descript makes it much easier to find the portions that you want to edit and to edit those portions extremely quickly. It does this by letting you make edits to the automatically-generated text. In other words, it is a text-first editing approach that makes it extremely easy to find certain aspects of your video that you want to edit.

This text-first editing approach makes sense, as Descript started with an initial focus on podcasts. From these origins, however, Descript has turned into a great editing platform for any type of video or audio. Through Descript’s text-first editing approach, you can get much more editing done faster. We have only completed a few test projects with Descript. That being said, we have found it to be a really novel way to create content. If you are editing a long piece of video content (like a podcast interview or interview with a customer), this style of editing can be especially helpful.

Descript

Now, to get started with Descript, you will need to download an application to your Mac or Windows machine. Unfortunately, you cannot run Descript in your browser. After downloading it to your computer, it takes some time for the software to transcribe your video into text. Once it is finished transcribing, however, you are ready to go. You and your team can easily find the sections that you want to remove from your video, highlight it in the script, and then hit delete. It’s that easy.

Ultimately, Descript is a really cool way to edit dialogue-focused videos or audio-only podcasts. To get started, I’d say that you need a decent laptop or computer. This way, you’ll make sure that the software works properly.

As for pricing, Descript offers four different plans

  1. The first plan is completely free. It is designed for screen recording and limited editing. You get to record, edit, and mix one project, have up to 20 screen recordings, and have three hours of transcription.
  2. The second plan (called the “Creator” plan) gets you unlimited projects, screen recordings, ten hours of transcription per month, and more. This is for $15 per editor per month or $12 per editor per month if you pay for one year in advance.
  3. The third plan is called the “Pro” plan. You get everything in the Creator plan, along with features like Overdub, Filler Words Pro, Audiograms Pro, and more. You can get this plan for $30 per editor per month or $24 per editor per month if paid for one year in advance.
  4. Finally, Descript offers an Enterprise plan. This is for much larger teams that need custom needs. As part of this plan, you would get access to things like a dedicated account representative, onboarding and training, You need to contact Descript to get the exact pricing for this plan.
