Speaker 0:
Actually, we’re about to go live. So Hey, guys, how you doing? It’s Ruben from Dubb. And I am here with Quentin Pain and Quinton. I just just started a really interesting conversation about how the evolution of media
Speaker 0:
has has transpired. I want to get that from you, Quince. And that was so powerful.
Speaker 1:
Sure thing. Yeah, it was.
Speaker 1:
It was a discussion about communication
Speaker 1:
on it. Just actually, it dawned on me at the second that
Speaker 1:
the first thing that a human did was
Speaker 1:
speak.
Speaker 1:
So we had the spoken word and then that went from there. You know, that’s a 1,000,000 years ago. So it went from there to the written word.
Speaker 1:
Uh, the first hire cliffs, et cetera. You know, maybe seven or 8000 years ago
Speaker 1:
on Dhe from that point, we went onto radio when somebody discovered they could send signals in the Victorian period, 19th century
Speaker 1:
on. Then we hit video in the early 20th century on video is where attack it’s It’s an evolutionary process. So you end up with the two key things, which is words and images
Speaker 1:
on. But that’s the, you know, my mission on this film, This planet is to see your world off. Hero businesses. Businesses who are prepared to take the time to listen and speak with customers will start. Hence my novel. One thing is worth, and so copy writing is right at the top of this for me.
Speaker 0:
Now, Would you say that when you when you craft words, do you does that happen in a verbal sense or in a mental sense? First for
Speaker 1:
you at the front of a cliche. That is a great question because I help a lot of people in various copyrighting groups,
Speaker 1:
and when you’ve been writing for a long time, it comes to so naturally you. It’s quite hard to figure out what you’re actually doing.
Speaker 1:
It sounds putting copy together
Speaker 1:
so we can say the simple things. If you use lots of adverbs and adjectives, you’re probably going wrong massively. And that’s a good example of an app for that,
Speaker 1:
Um, so
Speaker 1:
when I really looked at it, it’s
Speaker 1:
we know this stuff about avatars, right? And in order to pinpoint the exact audience we’re going for, that’s the only way to said anything.
Speaker 1:
The problem with people is that they they see at the time they don’t see a person
Speaker 1:
so that they continuously go to wide. Andi, this is going somewhere. But the crucial thing is is that if you can’t write a good letter to sell something to your mom,
Speaker 1:
then you’re gonna fail selling it to everybody else. And this is like, the top lesson. Anybody can learn
Speaker 1:
about anything. So when I look at it from that point of view in the way that I put things together, I I have a very clear visual impression of who it is I’m writing for
Speaker 1:
On Gwen. I’m writing. I can see their smiles and their inner inner changes going on on. That’s how I’m able to get their feedback loop going with me so I can write. Great copy That I know does work,
Speaker 0:
right. That makes a lot of sense. Well, what brings you two to the dough platform?
Speaker 1:
Okay. Double appeared on my radar.
Speaker 1:
Is it a year and 1/2 ago? Something like that. Probably.
Speaker 1:
Andi, it’s It’s at a point where I mean, I’ve been there, lots of video, but really avoiding it.
Speaker 1:
A lot of Facebook live that started toe get more live.
Speaker 1:
I see a lot of things are changing. Probably bought just about every video AP There is, and I still use Kam tase you. Despite all of that
Speaker 1:
on The. I think it was this this initial notion off the possibility off, using email and somehow getting video into it, which is obviously a completely dark art.
Speaker 1:
Evidently it’s impossible to do, because otherwise my inbox would be full of video e mails from people
Speaker 1:
and it isn’t yet.
Speaker 1:
So it’s this seem to me quite a novel idea. And so I thought that so investigate. Let’s investigate this them also. You know, I was intrigued by your videos because
Speaker 1:
you and I, whoever it is that you collaborate with
Speaker 1:
all those fun videos have done. If you still do them now, haven’t seen Maria action, and it’s terrible.
Speaker 1:
But that’s it because you do just
Speaker 1:
you just do it with no abandoned you don’t you know you’re not that fast, you know, like the rest of us. So they’re trying to look our best all the time and,
Speaker 1:
you know, vain And that all the other rubbish it goes along with life, so that kind of was appealing. I don’t know what I was is something like that. Yeah, I’m always looking for genuine people.
Speaker 0:
That’s fair enough. Yeah, I think that the catalyst story behind and I’ll give you
Speaker 0:
I’ve shared this story a number of times, but I’m gonna share it in a slightly different a different way this time just because I want you to hear this from the heart. I mean, it’s always from the heart, but it’s just I’ve gone through such an evolution
Speaker 0:
in trying to
Speaker 0:
really empower people to communicate and share stories that I have found different ways to talk about what Dubb is and really the problem that it’s trying to solve.
Speaker 0:
And, uh, the fact is, is that I’m learning every single day on what that true problem is. You know, there’s a lot of really important themes that
