When’s the last time you’ve looked at the Vidyard cost?

If you’re an entrepreneur or business owner in search of a video marketing platform, price matters.

If you haven’t heard of Vidyard, we’ll explain in a moment, but the reason why it’s so important to question Vidyard’s pricing is because value is important.

At Dubb, believe us when we say we’ve looked into our competitors thoroughly, examining their features, their functionality, and where there’s a disconnect between the products and services they offer, and how they meet the expectations of their consumer base.

We do this, of course, to offer you better services in return.

We learn where we can improve, innovate, and offer more value to our users—because adding more value to our users is good for us, good for them, and good for business.

With that said, value can be measured with two primary metrics: experience and price.

If those two elements are inverted respectively—a great experience for a low price—customer satisfaction comes with ease.

And that’s our aim.

With that said, we’re going to be taking a close look at the Vidyard cost. We’ll be looking at the most important aspects of their video marketing service, how they measure against our own, and bring you a final—and honest, we swear—evaluation of how much the Vidyard cost and value compares to our own.

So, let’s get started…

What is Vidyard?

Vidyard is a video marketing platform that allows you to create, share, and gain the user analytics from each of the videos you send across a variety of digital distribution channels.

In this way, Vidyard is very similar to Dubb.

  • We both allow our users to download application extensions on the Google Chrome browser.
  • We both have smartphone apps for iOS and Android.
  • And we both allow our software on any applicable form—desktop or smartphone—to record and send videos directly from the application itself.

Although Vidyard and Dubb are—in practice—used in very similar ways, there are three key differentiators between the experience of Vidyard and the experience of Dubb: price, benefits, and customer service.

All of which, culminating to have a significant influence on Vidyard’s perceived value.

Let’s start with the price.

So, What Does the Cost of Vidyard Cover?

As you can see, Vidyard’s subscriptions cover a range of different plans and prices based on the features and benefits each plan provides.

Let’s start with the free version.

Special Note: For the sake of assessing the value of the Vidyard cost, we’ll be comparing each tier of their service plans to our own.

The Freemium Plan

Vidyard

It’s a heck of a deal. Right off the bat, Vidyard is offering a free plan for life. No credit card required. And a plan that allows you to upload and share as many videos as you want and embed a total of FIVE of those videos on your website.

It’s hard to beat free, so the value is clear…

Right?

Not quite.

We went and tested Vidyard’s free plan and for the most part, it’s a quality service. You can upload an unlimited amount of videos to the platform, and the extensions are helpful and convenient.

However, there are two problems…

For starters, the videos you upload cannot be customized.

Secondly, and most importantly, there is no analytics information with the free version of the app.

This means you can upload and send as many videos as you like with the free version, but it’ll mean nothing if you can’t track the analytics they generate.

To be frank, this is a glaring problem that makes the free version of this platform almost useless.

Why?

Because YouTube allows you to do the exact same thing—upload and share videos from their platform—for free and you’ll get analytics information when you do.

Without being too harsh, this makes the free version of Vidyard largely for show.

In comparison…

Dubb

On the other hand, Dubb, gives you the ability to upload and share an unlimited amount of videos AND analyze the analytics information.

However, it’s important to note that Dubb’s “freemium” plan is only a two-week trial. But we can promise you a two-week trial of trackable reporting is better than a lifetime of no reporting at all.

Moving on to…

The Mid-Tier Plan

For Vidyard, this plan is called the Pro plan. It’s essentially an entry-level plan that gives easy access ($15 a month) to users, ups their embedded video count from five to twenty, and enables video performance insights.

Now, we’re cooking with fire.

In all honesty, this is a solid plan. It’s inexpensive, it offers nice perks and benefits, and it removes any watermarked Vidyard branding.

However, we’d be remiss if we didn’t point out one important caveat…

Team management.

With the Pro subscription of Vidyard, this level of access is meant for individual users who only want to send and share videos as part of their personal branding or business endeavors.

Unfortunately, for the price tag of $15 a month, however, you won’t get any team management functionality.

Dubb

The management features of Dubb at this level are pretty substantial. HD quality video sharing and a potential recipient list totaling 10K.

If you’re a salesperson/marketer, you know first hand that 10,000 prospects for a single user is a LOT—in most cases, more than you’ll ever need—and that’s 10K a month.

Along with the ability to mass message your contact list, you’ll also get customizable marketing assets such as landing pages, URLs, and call-to-action options. And for those who need a little extra help assimilating Dubb’s video marketing platform into their existing system, we also offer a specially-designated support channel filled with helpful videos here.

Next up, we have Vidyard’s Pro-level subscription…

Pro-Class Tier

Vidyard

As you can see a lot of the features of Vidyard at this level ($150) are very similar to Dubb’s ($40), from the custom URL pages and custom CTA options.

The biggest difference here, obviously, is the price.

Dubb

At this level, Dubb is significantly cheaper in both form and features than Vidyard.

Moving on to the next tier…

Premiere Tier

Vidyard

Again, take a look at the features listed for Vidyard’s $850 pricing plan and you’ll see a startling amount of the same features listed on Dubb’s $100 plan, well.

Largely related to integrations and support, the level up Vidyard cost includes a $700 jump from its pro-class tier.

Dubb

On the flip side, Dubb’s pricing jump from its pro-class tier to its pro-plus subscription level is simply a jump of $50 dollars.

The benefit of which—aside from the savings—is that a more accessible plan like this is easily attainable, and scalable for a variety of small and large-scale businesses with aims to grow.

With Dubb you’ll get a bevy of customizable perks and benefits—all of which are derived from our Pro tier with more advanced analytics options. In this subscription level, you’ll also get added support options which include direct access to a customer service representative via phone day or night. You’ll also be given a dedicated account manager for your team.

Your contact list will also jump up to 50K a month—that’s a 40K increase from our pro plan, too.

Again, that’s per month.

For a solopreneur, entrepreneur, or small business owner, that’s a lot of prospective contacts, but for a team or enterprise-level account, you’ll get everything you need to hit the pavement running and start scooping up and reaching out to new leads.

With the Pro Plus level of Dubb’s premium service offerings, you’ll gain better service and more support, and you’ll get for fractions of the cost of Vidyard’s penultimate pricing plan.

And finally, the ultimate tier…

Enterprise Tier

Dubb Founder Ruben talking to camera

Vidyard

At this level, Vidyard doesn’t even have their pricing up. Nor do they list their specialized perks and benefits, which may imply that they’re largely the same as the previous tiers, just at a higher price due to the associated burden of larger account management.

Dubb

Our “enterprise” tier is our pro-plus tier. That means you’ll receive enterprise-level support, functionality, and most importantly, pricing but just $100 a month.

The Final Verdict: Is the Vidyard Cost Worth It?

Of course, we’re going to be a bit biased on this one.

Functionally speaking, Vidyard is a good video marketing platform. The application and website are smooth and intuitive, and their initial entry-level plan ($15) is a great start for any individual marketer that doesn’t need more advanced functionality.

However, in every other plan, Dubb beats them out in price.

Though the functionality may be similar in regards to features between our upper-tier plans, and Vidyard’s, the price increases on Vidyard’s side jump drastically as new features are added.

In our opinion, there’s no reason—no good one, at least—that there should be a difference between $40 (our plan) and $150 (their plan) if the end-result services and benefits are so similar.

These discrepancies in price aren’t easy to blow off either. When your business is trying to grow and take market share from your competitors, every dollar counts.

You need more bang for your buck.

You need true value.

With Dubb, we’ve studied our competition to-the-letter to see where there’s room for improvement. And in the long run, this kind of analysis helps us bring more value to our customers by helping us offer comparable service offerings at a fraction of the cost.

The end result is that your business is able to grow more quickly and farther while keeping your marketing budget low and manageable.

Closing Thoughts

We say this all the time around here but with Dubb, our goal is to help you create a lasting impression. Whether that’s impacting your communications in-house among your teammates and staff, working with the clients you serve, or reaching out to make a memorable connection with a prospect, we’re here to help you maximize your efficiency, streamline your technologies, and generate results you can count on.
