As you are analyzing Wistia and Dubb, are you debating whether Wistia prices or Dubb prices are more attractive? If so, this blog post is for you. Here, we are going to take a deep dive into Wistia prices and Dubb prices so that you can get the most out of your video sales and marketing tools.
Taking Advantage of Video Sales and Marketing Tools
No matter the size or sector of your organization, video has become a critical tool for both sales and marketing. It lets you build authentic and genuine connections with your prospects and current customers. Video is more engaging than text or audio. Even better, we as humans are wired to respond to visual images and storytelling.
Even so, there are plenty of tools out there that can help you capitalize on video sales and marketing. Today, I want to focus on two of those tools. They are Wistia and Dubb. Both are great video marketing and sales tools that can help your team accomplish its goals. That said, there are some differences between both products—especially their costs.
Because of this, we are going to explore Wistia prices. Along with breaking down each of the pricing tiers within Wistia, we are going to compare Wistia prices with Dubb prices. At the end of this post, you will have a detailed understanding of both pricing structures so that you can select the tool that best meets your budget.
Wistia Prices vs. Dubb Prices: The Free Plans
One of the first things you’ll notice about Wistia prices is that there is a free tier. Within this free tier, you can take advantage of so-called “standard features” like a fully customizable video player, basic integrations (like Mailchimp and Keap), easy embedding and sharing, interactive video tools, and advanced video analytics. Beyond these standard features, users of the free tier get three videos to embed anywhere, one channel to share through a public Wistia link, 250 or fewer subscribers, and A/B testing. Using this free tier, however, means that you will have Wistia branding on the video player.
Along with these basic features is Wistia’s sales tool called Soapbox. If you are using video in your marketing work, you should also be using a video for sales process.
Soapbox also has a free tier. Within this tier, users can do things like create unlimited Soapbox videos, transition between webcam, screencast, and split-screen views, include links at the end of videos, customize the color of the video player, generate unique video thumbnails, and export Soapbox videos to your their Wistia accounts. The main limitation, however, is that it contains Wistia branding on nearly everything.
Looking at Dubb, you can also see that there is also a free tier. Dubb, however, has its sales and marketing features in one stack. This stack includes everything from embedding and hosting to unlimited storage. Free tier users can leverage a full tech suite with Dubb, which includes a Chrome Extension, Gmail and Outlook add-ons, mobile and desktop apps, and many integrations. Along with this, there isn’t any limit to the number of videos that you can embed (with Wistia’s free plan, you can only embed three videos). However, like Wistia, the free tier of Dubb contains Dubb branding.
Wistia Prices vs. Dubb Prices: Pro Plans
From those paid tiers, let’s talk about the paid tiers within both Wistia and Dubb.
With Wistia, you can see that there is a Pro plan that goes for $99 per month.
This plan has all of the standard features listed above and higher limits on the additional features in the free tier. For instance, you have ten free videos that you can embed anywhere (every additional video is $0.25 per month). You can leverage email notifications with your channel subscribers (up to 250) and can add your own branding to the Wistia video player. Like the free tier, however, you only have one channel to share via a public Wistia link.
In terms of Wistia’s Soapbox product, you can see that the solo plan is $300 per year.
This plan is for individuals and includes almost everything that Wistia has to offer besides some of the team features. For example, under this plan, you get everything in the free Soapbox tier, along with the ability to download your videos for sharing, sending or posting, track engagement, conversions, and receive notifications, customize your video pages with a company logo, and book meetings directly from your videos.
If you are looking for a plan for more than one person on Soapbox, you’ll need to use Soapbox’s teams plan. There is no listed price for this plan. Rather, you’ll have to contact the Wistia team to obtain a price. In the teams plan, you get everything in both the free and solo plans, along with default branding for your entire team, engagement and conversion data for all users, and the ability to review videos from multiple users in one place.
Also, note here that the Wistia and Soapbox products are separate. They aren’t one product. If you become a paying user of Wistia’s marketing product, for instance, you don’t get access to many of the paid features in Soapbox (and vice versa). If you opt for both plans, you will pay about $25 per month ($300 per year) for Soapbox and $99 per month ($1188 per year) for Wistia’s marketing tool.
Dubb also offers a Pro plan. At $40 per month ($480 per year), Dubb’s Pro plan includes both sales and marketing tools. It has everything in Dubb’s free plan along with features like HD video, custom logos, custom subdomains, calls-to-action, custom landing pages, and more. Moreover, there is no Dubb branding in the Pro plan. Paid for one year in advance, Dubb’s Pro plan goes from $40 per month to $32 per month ($384 per year).
By contrast, the full sales and marketing stack for Wistia is around $125 per month.
Wistia Prices vs. Dubb Prices: Advanced Tiers
Wistia and Dubb also offer more advanced tiers for their users. These higher tiers offer more features for larger groups of users, yet they are more expensive.
Wistia’s Advanced plan is not publicly stated, yet G2 has estimated that Wistia has both an Advanced plan and a Premium plan. The Advanced plan is $399 per month and the Premium plan is $999 per month.
The real difference between the $399 and $999 plans is the level of support. With the $999 per month plan, Wistia users get 24/7 emergency support.
Dubb’s Pro Plus plan does not offer 24/7 emergency support, but Pro Plus users do have access to a dedicated success manager. Essentially, Dubb’s Pro Plus plan is akin to the $399 versions of Wistia’s Advanced plan. Both plans contain priority support, much higher limitations, and custom integrations. Dubb’s Pro Plus plan, however, is $99 per month (or $80 per month if paid for one year in advance).
The Verdict?
Ultimately, both Wistia and Dubb have done a great job creating products and features that marketers and salespeople need. As with many things in life, your decision will come down to your specific needs, Wistia prices, and Dubb prices.
Looking at the free tiers, you will see that the products look relatively similar. That being said, Dubb and Wistia differ in that Dubb has its sales and marketing features in one stack. With Wistia, you’ll have to use Soapbox if you are looking for sales tools. There also isn’t any limit to the number of videos that you can embed with Dubb’s free plan. With Wistia, however, you are limited to three.
Moving on to the Pro plans, you can see several distinctions. To reiterate, Dubb’s sales and marketing stack is in one plan while Wistia’s is divided into two. Finally, there is the cost difference. With Wistia, you’ll need to pay $99 per month for the marketing tool and around $25 per month for the sales tool (Soapbox). Dubb’s Pro plan comes out to $40 per month (or $32 per month if you pay for one year in advance).
Finally, if you are looking for a more complete option for your team, you’ll inevitably be comparing both Wistia’s Advanced or Premium plan with Dubb’s Pro Plus plan. The main differentiating factor between Wistia’s Premium plan and Dubb’s Pro Plus plan is the 24/7 emergency support on Wistia. That said, with Dubb’s Pro Plus plan, you have access to a dedicated account manager. The account manager can help you with everything from using Dubb to accomplish your sales and marketing goals to helping use Dubb as efficiently as possible. You can also find a dedicated account manager with Wistia’s Advanced plan. In terms of pricing, Dubb’s Pro Plus plan is less expensive than Wistia’s Advanced or Premium plans.
With this comparison in mind, I hope that you and your colleagues find it easier to make your final decision. Should you have any questions about this blog post or the benefits that you can get with Dubb, don’t hesitate to contact us.
